v Rollerverse Magazine Scope of Design: Editorial Design Dimensions: 8.5 in x 11 inRollerverse is an editorial piece dedicated to showcasing the vibrancy and community that the sport of roller skating has created, and the connections that can be achieved through it. This is a 28–page magazine that was developed from initial concept to final printed spreads, with the goal of showcasing the global reach that the sport has created for so many groups, from queer spaces to POC communities. Rollerverse aims to connect roller skaters from around the world and provide a safe space to learn about others who have found solace in this sport. The art direction takes on a retro approach, bringing roller skating back to its disco roots and highlighting the eclectic nature of the target audience through fun typefaces and bold colour choices.
I created the custom hand lettered masthead to create a playful and eclectic brand identity for the magazine, emphasizing the broad range of communities showcased and impacted by this nostalgic sport.
