Good Grief 3D Exhibition
Good Grief creates an approachable and communal environment to help young adults overcome the stigma and isolation of grief by providing an outdoor 3D pop-up experience, accompanied by a book for visitors to take home with them.
The layout is based on the five stages of grief. At stage 1 (denial) visitors can input their response to the question “how did you feel after a loved one died” into a touch screen, and have their answer displayed along with others. Stage 2 (anger) is a chalk board that can be written on to express your anger when grieving. Stage 3 (bargaining) is a mirrored room for reflecting on thoughts of guilt over the death. Stage 4 (depression) is a space where you can listen to sad music and sit with your grief. Stage 5 (acceptance) has visitors write a message to a deceased loved one on a piece of seed paper, and then plant it in a pot to take home and grow their own grief garden.
This space encourages opening the dialogue around grief by providing a space where young adults can gather to experience their grief together.
